After his quest for the Dragon Balls, Goku paid a visit to Master Roshi to gain more training experience. At the same time, a boy named Krillin also showed up at Master Roshi's doorstep for the same reason. Master Roshi made a request before he would take them in as his disciples, which was for them to bring back the "Sleeping Princess" from the Devil's Castle. Thus, Goku and Krillin set off on their journey.
